Tinga Lens turns public satellite records into plain maps and figures for every district in Ghana, so that farmers' groups, district officers, journalists, students and researchers can see what is happening on the land without needing a remote sensing team. Pick a map and click a district.

What the labels mean
- Observed
- Something a satellite recorded directly, such as a fire or lost tree cover.
- Environmental condition
- A measurement set against what is usual for that district at that time of year.
- Published index
- A combined index published by another research group, averaged here by district.
- Published model
- A model result published by another research group, added up here by district. It is not an observation.
- Derived by Tinga Lens
- Worked out by Tinga Lens from satellite images with our own rules. Compared with a mapped flood but not checked on the ground.
- Experimental
- A first look (version 0.x) that has not been fully tested. Do not use it for decisions.
- Modeled risk
- Our own estimate from a statistical model. We test it and publish the results, but it is not a measurement.
